The Mazamas is a truly unique community, where deep Pacific Northwest roots meet internationally esteemed mountaineering and education standards. We're glad you're here!
It appears we may be getting a break from all the recent precipitation! The current forecast (as of 2/17) is showing clear skies, a bit cold (12-14 degrees), and lights winds (10-15 mph sustained with 22 mph gusts). But winter weather can be difficult to predict, so please note that this climb is contingent upon weather, snow and avalanche conditions. If you haven't climbed in winter, be prepared for colder temperatures - i.e. water bottles can freeze and summer boots may be inadequate. That said, Hood sure is beautiful in winter!
