The Mazamas has always been about people. Over the past few years, we've done important foundational work to expand our community: we’ve opened our membership to all, modernized our governance, and strengthened the systems that support our programs. We've grown more inclusive, more resilient, and more ready than ever to live out our mission.

We have an incredible opportunity before us to build on that momentum. This iteration of our 2026-2029 Strategic Plan charts the next steps on a path forward rooted in possibility — pragmatic, hopeful, and centered on our community.

We believe the future of the Mazamas lies in deepening the connections that bring people into the mountains, investing in the volunteers and members who make everything we do possible, and activating our facilities and programs in ways that serve our community today and sustain it for generations to come.
