The Mazamas offer several first aid courses each year.

Mountaineering First Aid (MFA)

A 30-hour course that is designed to teach the first-aider how to apply first aid skills in the wilderness, perform advanced patient assessment, improvise equipment and cope with wilderness-specific conditions. It will introduce you to caring for people who become ill or injured far from definitive medical care. Emphasis is placed on long term patient care management and specific injury evaluation. Get MFA Information.

Mountaineering First Aid Recert

An 8-hour course that is designed to recertify Mazama leaders in first aid skills. Applicants must have a current first aid certification, either MFA or WFR. Get MFA Recert Information.
