Mt. Hood (Wy'east), South Side

Activity Notes

This is a climb for intermediate and experienced climbers , who are comfortable down climbing steep now.  Climb date is tentative and will depend upon an appropriate weather window and conditions. We'll shoot for weekends or later week days i.e. Thursday or Friday.  A climbing permit will be required for summiting Wy'east/Mt Hood starting Jan 1st, 2024.  A second tool will be required and you should be proficient with crampon adjustments/usage. 

We'll move at a reasonable pace and if a climber can't keep up with the group's pace, I'll ask them to fall back at the top of Palmer snowfield so as to not compromise team's turn around time and safety.
