Activity Notes
A prime East Gorge spring wildflower hike, scheduled on a Friday to ensure a quiet day and avoid the weekend crowds. Besides wildflowers, highlights include a pretty cascading creek, interesting labyrinthine rock formations and beautiful grassland. There should be great views if the day is clear. We’ll start at the Catherine Creek trailhead, NOT the Coyote Wall trailhead. Total distance is close to 10 miles.
We’ll leave from the MMC at 7.30am sharp, because it’s around 70 miles to the trailhead. No parking pass is required at the trailhead.
Due to some recent trail reconfiguration, the exact route will likely differ from published gps tracks. I’ll send an update with more information, including trailhead directions, nearer the date. Note that mountain bikers also use the area, including part of this route.
