Activity Notes
Who:
Beginning-to-intermediate alpine climbers eager to complete a snow ascent with beautiful views in the Olympic Mountains. Recent BCEP graduates are especially welcomed! People from historically underrepresented groups like LGBTQ, BIPOC and women climbers are also encouraged! My goal is to create a supportive and cohesive team.
What:
Mt. Ellinor is 5,952 feet at its summit. The climb is 3500 feet of gain and approximately 6.5 miles round trip. There are often mountain goat sightings and the descent includes a fun glissade. This is an excellent beginner climb for recent BCEP graduates.
Where:
Mt. Ellinor via the upper Mount Elllinor trailhead and SE Chute.
When:
We will depart the upper trailhead at 6 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, summit mid-morning, and descend back to the trailhead midday or early afternoon.
We have reserved two campsites at Skokomish on Lake Cushman for Friday 5/31 and Saturday 6/1, approximately 30 minutes from the trailhead. The cost will be approximately $20-$30 per climber.
