Let?s head up to the Dalles Mountain Ranch area to bask in lupine, balsamroot, and other glorious wildflowers, which should be at peak bloom around this time. Distance:  13 miles Elevation gain: 2,900 ft Date: Saturday, May 16th. Time: 8:00am. Meeting place: Gateway transit center, lower garage, north entrance. Bring: Food, water, 10 essentials. Money for gas, approx. 10 cents per mile ($12-$17 for this trip). Money to pitch in for Discovery Pass (it is $10), bring one if you have it. Wear: appropriate hiking attire (no cotton or jeans, raincoat, warm gear if appropriate, sunscreen if not warm but sunny). Tick advisory ? long pants should be worn on this hike. No dogs please.
