Activity Notes
Mount Defiance is the highest peak in the Columbia River Gorge, offering one of the most demanding day hikes in the region. We will ascend via the Mount Defiance Trail and descend down the Starvation Ridge Trail, featuring a relentless climb, steep terrain, and incredible views of Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood on a clear day.
Important Note on Difficulty: This is a strenuous hike requiring excellent physical conditioning and strong endurance. Please carefully evaluate your current fitness level and recent trail experience before signing up.

Meeting Times & Locations: 7:00 AM at MMC (carpool) or 7:50 AM at Starvation Creek State Park.
Parking: Oregon State Park Annual Parking Permit ($60 for residents and $75 for non-residents) or Day-use Parking Permit ($10 for in-state residents and $12 for out-of-state visitors). Restrooms on site.
