Come join the Mazamas in getting your crack on! Advanced Rock is hosting a day of climbing to teach you all about jamming. During the clinic, we will cover how to tape hands, basic jamming techniques, and get tons of practice.

Course Overview This skill builder is brought to you by the Advanced Rock Program and is designed for climbers who are interested in learning basic crack climbing techniques, especially useful while learning how to trad climb. Key takeaways include learning jams, locks, and body mechanics to climb hand-size cracks efficiently – prep for dessert splitters or alpine classic granite climbing.
Stations: There will be a variety of crack-sizes available to practice on, all with top-ropes rigged. Students should aim to try a variety of crack-sizes to see what works best for their body.

Learning Objectives By the end of the class, participants will be able to:
- Have a basic understanding of crack climbing
- Learn about the techniques to tape hands/use crack gloves to help with skin management

- Have hands-on practice on the wall
