Activity Notes
COVID-19 Update: The First Aid Committee is currently monitoring the situation related to COVID-19. Due to the unavoidable close personal contact involved in teaching and practicing first aid, the fall 2020 session of MFA will likely be canceled. Please check back early August for a final decision on if this course will occur.
This course is intended for Mazama climbers who need to recertify their MFA requirement. The participants in this re-certification will serve as instructor volunteers for the concurrent MFA: Fall 2020 class. If you are looking to register for MFA for the first time or your MFA badge expired more than a year ago, please click here to register for the MFA class.
All participants must have a MFA, WAFA, or a WFR certification that is current or has expired no more than 1 year ago. If you have any of these certifications, but they aren't listed in the Badge section of your profile, please apply for the appropriate badges now, by going to mazamas.org/badges.
Applications will be reviewed after the closing of Registration. Applications are not accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. For this recert opportunity, people who are not climb leaders are prioritized for acceptance. If you are a climb leader, consider taking one of the two day recert options in December (Recert 1 or Recert 2).
In order to earn your recertification, you must commit to attending the volunteer training night, all 5 lectures, and both days of the weekend session! Please check the dates for all these sessions in the "Upcoming Activities" area below to verify your availability before applying.
Please be sure you have signed the volunteer agreement within the past year. It can be found here.
