Lost & Found

In the hustle and bustle of activity at the Mazama Mountaineering Center (MMC), there are times where people inadvertently leave items behind. There are also times when people leave items at the MMC for others to pick up at a later time. We work to round up these left behind items and items for pickup into our Lost & Found cabinet so that they can be easily retrieved by their owners. 

If you have an item(s) that you left behind at the MMC or that was left here for you, we request that you pick it up as soon as possible.

This process was designed to maximize flexibility to allow individuals to reclaim their items when a staff member is not present. This flexibility does mean that the Mazamas cannot be responsible for Lost & Found items. 

Items are kept in the Lost & Found for two to three months. At the end of that period of time they are put into a donation bin, and if it is nearing our Used Equipment Sale, they items will be put into the sale.

Items are frequently left behind at the Mazama Lodge and left behind items are stored in the Lodge's Lost & Found. In the spring and fall of each year, the lodge caretaker bring the unclaimed Lost & Found items down from the Lodge to the MMC. In the spring, those items are donated to the Used Equipment Sale.
