Activity Notes

It's spooky season and it's time for an exploration of the spookiest trail on Mount Hood! Join AYM for a fun hike to Tamanawas Falls and up to Lamberson Spur, one of the most obscure places on Mount Hood. We'll hike to Tamanawas Falls and then follow trails to Lamberson Spur, where there is an excellent view of the mountain if the weather is clear. Even if it's cloudy, the larches on the mountain should be golden and spectacular. If we have time after the hike we may stop at Kiokawa to buy apples and pears. Hike: 10 miles out and back, 2500 feet elevation gain. Drive: 140 miles (90 minutes each way from Portland). NW Forest Pass. Dogs are welcome *on leash* only. There will be carpools from Gateway Transit Center at 7:30 AM. Otherwise, meet at the Tamanawas Falls Trailhead at 9AM. Leader: Matt Reeder
