Activity Notes

If you hold a current Wilderness First Responder or higher certification with a passion for education that inspires everyone to love and protect the mountains, maybe you should consider becoming a Mazamas WFA Instructor. Our instructors value education excellence and are willing to put forth the effort required to become a nationally qualified instructor. Mazamas are partnering with Base Medical and their certified Wilderness medicine curriculum to grow the Mazamas WFA instructor base as we expand access to innovative and sustainable WFA education to Mazamas outdoor leaders and members of our community. If you want more information about what it takes to become a WFA instructor, join Base Medical Training Director, Janet Peterson, on May 11th, 7pm for a ZOOM info session. Janet will answer your questions about the upcoming 2-day Base Medical Instructor Skills workshop scheduled June 18-19 at the Mazamas Mountaineering Center.  Agenda: Welcome and Introductions Explanation of the Base Medical Education Center format Mazamas First Aid committee commitments Instructor course overview and expectations Final check off (Mazamas Fall WFA courses TBD)  Maintaining certification Other opportunities for certified instructors Questions Thank you in advance for considering this opportunity to support Mazamas education programs.
