Commonly done during the Basic Climbing Education Program (BCEP), this hike is a good conditioner for climbing Mt. Hood as well as practicing rope team travel and crampon techniques.

Clothing: have a multiple layers ready including wind gear, gloves, cap, etc.

Lip protection, Sunscreen, and protective eyewear is a must

Gear: seat harness, helmet, caribiners, ice axe, crampons, boots to go with crampons
