Activity Notes

The Mt. Tabor Navigational Exercise is optional. It is also fun and stimulating.

We will start at 1:00 p.m. on Friday the 29th of April at the point designated #1 on the MAP for the exercise that is available in Basecamp: To view, download, and print the "course notes" and MAP for this exercise, go to BCEP Basecamp and click on the "Navigation" tile. You may also click HERE. Scroll down past the navigation slide shows and videos (you might wish to review those) to "Navigation Exercises." The second navigation exercise is listed as "MT Tabor Exercise." Read the three paragraphs there and below them you will find the downloadable "course notes" (by John Gordino) and the topographic map (thanks to Josh Lockerby). Please print those and bring them with you to Mt. Tabor Park in Portland.

Parking: You may park where we parked for our initial meet-and-greet, lo these many weeks ago, on S.E. Lincoln Street at the base of Mt. Tabor's s.w. flank, or in the nearby neighborhoods, but being mindful of those who live there. Your first task in this navigational exercise is to find your way to our meeting point at #1 on the MAP.
