Redstone Peak is located in the north part of Mt Rainier National Park off of the Northern Loop Trail. The climbing has complex route finding and is somewhat exposed 3rd class in spots. The approach can be made from either the Carbon River Entrance via the abandoned Carbon River Road and Northern Loop Trail or from Sunrise via the Wonderland Trail and Northern Loop Trail.

Activity Notes

Redstone Peak is a challenging 3rd class climb with complex route finding near the summit.  It is located off the Northern Loop Trail in Mt Rainier National Park south of Lake James.  This is NOT a good first climb for recent BCEP graduates. Team members should have previous experience on at least 3 rock climbs.    I have not done this climb, so it will be exploratory- expect some adventurous confusion.  MRNP limits back country camping groups to a maximum of 5 people.
