Activity Notes

Hi Folks!

The weather looks good, let's get up Defiance. Here are some nearby reports: Dog, Larch

Defiance is long, hard, and is a great conditioning hike. Please bring synthetic clothing, layers, NO COTTON, at least 2 liters of water, rain gear (just in case), trekking poles, study footwear, snacks and maybe a lunch. I anticipate stopping for food on the way back if folks are interested.

We may get a view of Hood on the top!

Let's meet at 8AM in the Mazamas MMC parking lot. We will then drive to Starvation Creek State Park.  Google directions here. Let's carpool if we can as the lot is small, and fills up quickly.

Here's a map from Caltopo of the loop. FYI: The Starvation Ridge Trail is closed, so we won't be able to do the whole loop, but I want to get to the summit, head to Warren Lake, and then back out. So it won't be as long as the entire loop.

Please click all the links and if you have questions, please contact me: (360)440-9830 or dforestation@gmail.com
