Activity Notes

Is standing on the top of Monkey Face one of your climbing goals? How about a more ambitious “vertical camping” trip to Yosemite or Zion? This class will cover the foundation skills of aid climbing to prepare you for a big wall adventure.

Learn the basics of leading, cleaning, fixed line ascending, hauling, and bivy / portaledge set up.

Students should have Intermediate Climbing School (ICS) level experience or better for this class, please contact the leader if you’re wondering about your skill level.

About one hour of pre-class video study is required. Materials will be sent to students after they register.

Students do not need to purchase specialized aid equipment prior to class, but if you’re able to bring or borrow gear such as ascenders, aiders, fifi hook, daisy chains, and a Grigri, that’d be very helpful.

Please contact the instructors at the email addresses above if you have any further questions.
