Mileage:7 Elevation:750 Drive:25 Meeting Location: Cougar Rest Area
This is a 6-mile lollipop loop with 750 feet of elevation gain. The difficulty ranges from easy to June Lake to strenuous to Chocolate Falls due to scrambling over large lava boulders. The hike to June Lake itself is only 2.5 miles and generally considered easy. June Lake features a waterfall spilling directly into the lake, and the trail continues through the historic Worm Flows lava field to reach Chocolate Falls. Chocolate Falls is a seasonal waterfall that flows when snowmelt from Mount St. Helens creates enough water flow - sometimes it may be dry.
