Marion Lake is the largest lake in an Oregon Cascades roadless area (Jefferson Wilderness Area), and provides a striking view of Three Fingered Jack. The Marion Lake trail is also a gateway into the Eight Lakes Basin. The lookout house is 1200' above Marion Lake (and 2.4 miles further down the trail), and sits on Mt. Marion--providing a commanding view of the surrounding area. 

Activity Notes

Fall hike to a former fire lookout site which passes through one of the last remaining unburnt portions of the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness. Great views on a clear day! This out-and-back hike will cover about 10 miles with 2,000 feet of elevation gain and we'll go at a 2 mph to 2.5 mph pace.
