Broken Top is a heavily eroded volcano with spectacular views of the Three Sisters. It's a fairly easy ascent - a bit of easy snow and one very short section (10 feet) of 5.1 rock climbing.
Activity Notes
This is the first climb of a Broken Top - South Sister weekend. You may apply to one or both, with some preference going to those aiming for both. Each climb will start pre-dawn at the Cascade Lakes Highway trailheads (Green Lakes/Soda Creek and Devils Lake, respectively). I have campsites reserved at Soda Creek for Friday and Saturday nights. Broken Top climbers should plan on camping there Friday night.
