Activity Notes
Update: Aasgard Pass got 3 feet of snow yesterday. It could melt before 10/10, but the forecast is calling for more. This hike is tough enough without snow.
Backup plan or cancellation will be announced soon.
Enchantments Thru-Hike in one day during Larch Madness.
We'll do an early 5am start at the Stuart/Colchuck TH after leaving some cars at the Snow LakesTH - which we'll attempt to reach by around 10pm that evening. Since this trail is a bit of an obstacle course, timing can vary widely. Reach out to me if you have a vehicle with high clearance and an interest in driving people to the upper trailhead. Avoiding the shuttle system would make this a peak experience. *If we end up voting as a group to take the shuttle, it will be an extra $33 per person.
All trails says 19 miles, 4800 ft elevation gain. I think it's closer to 22 miles 4900 ft elevation.
This is a very long, strenuous day and I will screen out people who don't have recent vigorous training in their profile. We will be hiking in the dark for a good portion of the final stretch. Recommending two headlamps per person or batteries/chargers.
