Activity Notes
This is a practice session centered on folks who identify as Black, Indigenous and/or a Person of Color (BIPOC) who are interested in taking Intermediate Climbing School (ICS) this year. Come to practice skills and ask questions about the skills admissions test and the course in general.
Skills Test Prep night runs from 6 - 9pm. Participants can stay for part or the whole time. It's highly recommended to attend at 6 pm as we will be going over introductions, a safety briefing, and the set up of the stations available for practice.
Required Gear:
- Climbing helmet
- Climbing harness
- Belay/rappel device with dedicated locking carabiner
- 4 standard locking carabiners
- 2 standard non-locking carabiners
- Autoblock/Third hand
- Personal protection leash
- Tennis shoes or approach/trail shoes (rock shoes optional)
Optional: Water bottle, Snacks if you need them
Joining last minute? Feel free to attend! Acceptance to this event is not required, but applying helps us gauge how many volunteers we will need to manage stations.
