Angel's Rest is one of the most popular hikes in the Columbia Gorge and affords gorgeous views of the Columbia River from it's summit. You'll hike through varied terrain, including lush green forest, a barren area from the 1991 forest fire, as well as pass by a waterfall.
This short hike is well worth the effort. Plan to arrive early on spring and summer weekends as it can get very crowded.
Activity Notes
This will be a brisk morning hike to the iconic gorge viewpoint. About 5 miles and 1600 feet of elevation gain. We'll carpool from the MMC departing at 7:30 am, or you can meet us at the trailhead at 8. We'll aim for a 2 mph pace going up and 2.5 mph on the return. That pace will have us back to the MMC by 11:30 while allowing a leisurely break at the top to take in the views if conditions are favorable.
An Oregon State Parks Pass is now required to park at the trailhead.
