Activity Notes
Let's enjoy a two day climb up Middle Sister on the popular and beautiful Hayden Glacier route. This will be a recent BCEP/ICS graduates preference climb with additional preference given to 2026 BCEP graduates, 2026 ICS graduates, and active Mazamas volunteers.
Rough Schedule:
Saturday
- Early AM Leave Portland and drive to Sisters Oregon
- 10:30 AM: Meet at Pole Creek Trailhead, distribute group gear
- 11:00 AM: Start hiking into the camp
Sunday
- Early AM: Summit attempt.
- PM: Return to the camp, pack up the camp and hike out.
- Team debrief: Restaurant TBD Sisters, OR.
Notes:
- NW Forest Pass or America the Beautiful pass is required to park at the trailhead. While day passes can be purchased at the trailhead (bring $5/$10 bills or a check), you'll need two of them, so it it might be prudent to purchase an annual pass in advance.
- A more detailed gear list will be shared closer to the climb.
Skills required for this climb: Snow camping, roped glacier travel, running belay, and rappel.
Please review the Mazamas Climber Etiquette Guide.
