Snowshoe the Pine Marten Trail to June Lake Trail , through scenic winter forests. Stop at June Lake to enjoy the views before continuing down the Pika Trail. At the junction of the Swift Creek Trail, hikers can decide to proceed up to Chocolate Falls for an up close view of Mt St Helens, or proceed down and back to Marble Mountain.
Activity Notes
Beginning at Marble Mountain, we travel through lush evergreen forests as we make our way to June Lake. Here we can stop for lunch, and sight seeing before we return on the same path. Roundtrip, this hike is approximately 5 miles, and 600 ft of elevation gain. We will be traveling at an easy pace, with plenty of opportunity for photos. Plan on bringing microspikes (yaktraks, etc.) as there still may be some snow present on the trail. The description notes snowshoes, but we will not need snowshoes for this hike.
