Dog Mountain Loop

Activity Notes

This is a winter ascent of Dog Mountain!  We'll carpool from the MMC parking lot departing at 7:30am, or you can meet us at the trailhead at 8:30am. I plan to take the Augspurger Trail up Dog Mountain to the Dog-Augspurger trail, then head to the summit of Dog Mountain.  We will return via the "Difficult" trail back to the trailhead.  This will be approximately 7 miles with 2900ft of altitude gain. More information can be found here:  https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/dog_mountain_loop_hike . If conditions look snowy on the mountain, I may revert to the standard Dog Mountain Loop on the day of the hike (Up the "Most Difficult" trail, down the "Difficult" trail).  <br> <br> <br> This is a January hike in the Columbia River Gorge.  ​Please consider the potential for adverse weather before signing up.  I plan to hike rain or shine, however, I will cancel for dangerous conditions on the trail or on the roads leading to the trailhead.
