Activity Notes
This hike covers about 4.5 miles and 1700 feet of elevation gain. After a short downhill start, the trail climbs steeply (approx 1000 ft over a mile) on rocky switchbacks. Careful footing is needed on the way back down. If conditions permit, hikers will have the option to venture out onto Quiver Point and Arrow Point for stunning views of the gorge. Both are narrow with steep drop-offs on both sides. Participants should be comfortable with exposure.
We'll carpool from the MMC departing at 2:00 PM or you can meet us at the High Valley Trailhead at 2:45 PM.
While this is an A-level hike, hikers should be prepared for some difficult terrain, be prepared to move at a 2+ mph pace uphill, and be prepared for descending in the dark (sunset will be around 4:30 PM). If you do not have Mazamas activity history, please fill in your profile with details about your hiking experience before registering.
