This is an B level Mazama Hike that occurs in a non-wilderness area. B level hikes are moderate or more challenging hikes with either less than 15 miles in distance with between 1,500 and 3,000 feet elevation gain or between 8 and 15 miles in distance with less than 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Activity Notes

Come celebrate the holidays in the Columbia River Gorge with a visit to the Ornament Trail! 

The hike will head up above Wahkeena Falls with a traverse over to Multnomah Creek. From there the path leads up to the Ornament trail where we will take time to hang our own (non-breakable) ornaments along the path. We will continue to the Nesika Lodge patio for treats and merriment followed up with an overlook of the Gorge and finally return via the Multnomah Falls trail to complete the loop back to Wahkeena Falls.

Meet 6:30am at Gateway Transit Center to carpool for a 6:45am departure and set out from Wahkeena Falls Trailhead at 7:30am.

About 11 miles and 2200' of elevation gain.
