The Mount Defiance hike is a steep hike with great views of the surrounding mountains on a clear day. You can make it a loop hike by going up the Starvation Ridge Trail and back down the Mount Definance Trail or you can go out and back on the same trail. Activity Notes
Mt. Defiance is our BCEP "graduation" hike.
It is one of more difficult hikes in the gorge - 13 miles with around 5000' elevation gain.
Due to wilderness regulations of having up to 12 people in a group and to better accommodate people with different hiking pace, we will split into two teams:
- The slower team will be led by Lynne, will meet at the trailhead at 6 AM, and will start hiking at 6:30 AM
- The faster team will be led by Sergey, will meet at the trailhead at 7 AM, and will start hiking at 7:30 AM
Here are the carpool spreadsheet and the prospectus for the hike.
