Silver Falls Backcountry Loop

Though this hike is wholly within Silver Falls State Park, we will only visit the new accessible trailhead overlooking North Falls. We will then take the Perimeter Trail to the Buck Mountain Loop Trail to the Rackett Ridge Trail. Total stats are 17.2 miles and 2,450'. We'll experience the healthy backcountry forest that has grown since the National Parks jilted Silver Falls due to a fire-scarred landscape a century ago. We'll share our trails primarily with mountain bikers and equestrians. Last year most photos taken were of mushrooms. Drivers should note that, if you can't display an annual Oregon State Parks day use pass, $10 parking is available from a machine at the trailhead.
