Activity Notes
Looks like Friday will be a dry day at the beach. Join me for an 8–mile hike in Ecola State Park starting at Indian Beach. Meet at The Sunset Transit Center at 8:00 AM OR at Indian Beach at 9:45 AM near the pit toilets. Please let me know if you’re meeting us at the trailhead.
We’ll leave Indian Beach first hiking through a wooded area to Ecola Point and return back to Indian Beach then continue north on the Clatsop Loop returning down a service road. Slower on uphills at 1.5 –2 mph and quicker downhill 2.5-3 mph. There are great viewpoints along the way of the sea stacks, arches and a lighthouse off the coastline.
Elevation gain is approximately 1,600 feet.

Rain has been minimal the past 2 weeks. May have some mud puddles. I highly recommend waterproof boots or shoes with a good tread. This is the last week before the heavier rains begin.
Oregon State Park permit needed. Kiosk at the parking lot costs $10.
Optional stop in Cannon Beach afterwards for food.
Be prepared to pay driver $15 for a 150-mile round-trip.
