Activity Notes
This is a B level hike in the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness. We will meet at the Sisters Ranger Station at 9:00 AM. Our hike will begin at the Jack Lake Trailhead. We’ll hike to the high alpine meadow, and then scramble up a glacial moraine for close-up views of the east side of Three Fingered Jack and expansive views of the Central Oregon Cascades.
7.5 miles / 1600 feet elevation gain
This is one of three day-hikes scheduled for September 5 – 7 in the vicinity of Sisters, Oregon. It’s approximately a 3.5 hour drive from Portland to Sisters. If you plan to stay in the Sisters area for multiple days, feel free to contact the hike leader for information on camping options.
Please note: This hike is in a wilderness area where day use permits are required. The hike leader will procure permits for all participants. In the event that permits are unavailable, the hike leader will select an alternative hike in the area.
