Thanksgiving at Red Rocks!

Dates: Saturday, Nov 22 – Saturday, Nov 29<br> Location: Red Rock Canyon, Nevada<br> <br> With over 2,000 established sandstone routes, Red Rocks offers something for everyone—from single-pitch sport to epic multi-pitch trad. This trip is open to all AR grads (recent and past, or people with equivalent skills) and is all about climbing, connecting, and celebrating the season outdoors.

Transportation:  Self-organized. Two vans are driving down and can help transport racks, ropes, and gear for those flying.

Lodging:  We have site 50 reserved at Red Rock Canyon Campground. If you'd like a site, you can either pay upfront (~$25/night) and we’ll reserve it for you, or you can book directly via recreation.gov. Showers are available at the Red Rock Climbing Center, just 15 minutes from camp. Alternatively, you can rent a house or hotel—there are plenty of options in Vegas.

Climbing:  Self-organized, there is no leader taking participants out climbing.  Participants will be selecting routes, navigating to the routes and climbing without a designated Mazama leader.  A shared spreadsheet will help coordinate carpooling, lodging, and finding climbing partners. We’ll propose a few group days for single pitch climbing together, but everything is flexible and optional.  Again, there is no leader guiding teams out.

Thanksgiving Potluck:  Let’s share a Thanksgiving meal together! The plan is to have a potluck at the campground on Thursday, unless someone offers a house. We’ll swing by New Seasons (or equivalent) to pick up something easy to contribute.
