Activity Notes
Pinnacle Peak is a perfect climb for recent BCEP grads and anyone else hoping to enjoy a stunning view of Mt Rainier. This climb will involve low 5th class rock climbing, fixed line travel and a rappel. Participants should feel comfortable tying knots like the rewoven figure 8, an alpine butterfly and a Prusik hitch as well as setting up for rappel.
We will meet at the Reflection Lakes trailhead the morning of the climb. At the base of our climb, we will set up a Recycle Belay system up to the Catwalk, and then set a fixed line up to the plateau before the summit. From here we will ascend to the summit all together. We will then rappel down to our packs and back to the cars.
Camping the night before either in or near the national park is a good idea. More on those options will be shared with the team.
