Activity Notes

Learn about Natural History of Trees at a talk at Mt. Tabor then hike to Angel's Rest to see them on our hike.  At the top of Angel's Rest we will have picnic while I highlight some geological features of the Columbia River Gorge.  You can skip the tree talk and meet us at Mt Tabor at 4 pm or trailhead at 4:45pm. 

1:45p Meet at Mt. Tabor Visitor Center (SE Salmon Way and, SE Park Dr, Portland, OR 97215)

2:00p  We’ll take a walk in Mt. Tabor Park hear about the Natural History of Trees Led by Rick Sany.  The link below is their Tree Guide: https://www.taborfriends.org/tree-guide

4:00p Carpool to Angel's Rest Parking Lot (or meet us at Angel's Rest Parking Lot at 4:35p)

4:45p Hike Angel's Rest to see native plants along the way and we will eat our picnic on top while enjoying the view and a short Geology talk.

8:00p Arrive back at Angel's Rest Parking Lot.

8:45p Arrive back at Mt Tabor Parking Lot.

Bring: a Headlight/Flashlight since we will end at twilight.
