This is an C level Mazama Hike that occurs in a non-wilderness area. C level hikes are difficult or strenuous hikes with either over 15 miles in distance or over 3,000 feet elevation gain. C level hikes require you to apply; once you apply you will receive an email within a few days letting you know if you have been accepted onto the hike.

Our trail:
This hike is an 11-mile loop near Yacolt, Washington. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 5.5 hours to complete. This could be a longer day, depending on snow conditions on the trail.

Our meeting/carpool location:
We will meet at 8:00 AM at the Winco in Northeast Vancouver - 11310 NE 119th Street, Vancouver, WA 98662. This is at the corner of 117th Ave (Hwy 503) and 119th Street on the way to Battle Ground. If you are coming from Portland, taking 205 to Padden Parkway to 117th Avenue North can sometimes be faster. Directions
Walking speed:
We will go the speed of the group, but I am aiming for 2.0 mph. If we do it right, we should hit the high point of the trail for lunch.
Exploratory:
This is a new trail for the hike leader, so bring your attitude of adventure!
