Commonly done during the Basic Climbing Education Program (BCEP), this hike is a good conditioner for climbing Mt. Hood as well as practicing rope team travel and crampon techniques.

Sunrise hike to the top of the Palmer Ski Lift—your first step toward summiting Wy'east and a nice conditioning hike for spring climbing goals. We'll take a few short breaks along the way, with a steady pace of around 1,000 feet per hour. Weather and conditions permitting.
