Activity Notes
This day hike is intended for participants in the 2025 Mazama Basic Climbing Education Program (BCEP). Kindly refrain from registering if you are not enrolled in the program.
This hike will be a winter hike, possibly in inclement conditions. Ice and snow will be likely. Microspikes and trekking poles required. No cotton close to the skin. Bring layers including a dry shell jacket. Dry shell pants, hand warmers and gaiters advised. Bring 2 liters of water, lunch and snacks. Please have 15lb+ of gear in your pack.
We will meet at the MMC to orient ourselves, do initial introductions and arrange car-pools. While not required, carpooling reduces pollution and waste and promotes solidarity and friendship. For passengers, 10 cents for miles per person is the suggested amount for the driver. Drivers will need a NW Forest Pass or the equivalent.
Leader treats for the group will be celebrated. I particularly like chocolate and licorice.
