Activity Notes

Get some in-town conditioning in at Mt. Tabor! We will do repeats of a loop of Mt. Tabor, including both infamous sets of stairs and the summit. Each loop is about 2 miles and 350' of gain. We will meet at the bottom of the stairs off 60th. My goal is to do 6 loops (12 miles, 2100' gain) but you can do more or less if you want.

My plan right now is for us all to do the first loop together. After that we can break up and go at our own pace so that we each get the workout that's best for us.

If participants want to do just the small loop with the 2 sets of stairs and not the summit, I am flexible to changing the plan. Wear some weight if you want extra training! This is a great test conditioning hike for those interested in BCEP!

If you want an extra warm-up/cool-down, the stairs are a 1.2 mile walk from the MMC; you're welcome to park there!

Expect rain.

1 loop = 2 miles, 350' gain

***One of my motivations for leading hikes is to provide opportunities to improve mental and physical health. There's a lot of evidence that spending time outside in nature and socially engaging outside of work is good for the body and mind. Minorities tend to experience more stress, especially in today's political climate. Therefore, I invite all races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, economic classes, religions, languages, and all other minorities to join me on my hikes!

***This hike will take place on historically Chinook lands. If you would like to help this tribe be federally recognized, they have an active petition!
