Elk Creek Hike (in the Coast Range)

This is a gentle hike of 9 miles and 2200 feet of elevation gain, on an old roadbed following Elk Creek in the Coast Range.

and the elevation is 2200ft.

The trailhead is off hiighway 6,  at the Elk Creek campground, located here:

Drive through the campground to the parking area.

Meet at either the trailhead at 8:00 or the target at 185th street exit off highway 26 at 7:15 AM

about 52 miles driving from portland, about 1 hour driving.

We should be down by 4 PM 

Rain is expected, so make sure you bring some raingear
