Activity Notes

This is a beautiful hike on a historic trail. We will start the hike at Mazama trailhead off Lolo pass road.  Hike up the Mazama trail as far we can get in the time allotted toward Cairn basin.  We will head back to the TH where we will enjoy snacks and non-alcoholic refreshments provided by the Mazamas!  Ray Sheldon will share stories and history with us about the trail.  We plan to meet up with other hiking groups and visit at the TH.  If you have a camp chair please bring it.  If you have food allergies please bring snacks that are safe for you to eat.  Cell service is not likely at the TH We are hoping to have a portapotty at the TH but not guaranteed.   Carpool will be set up with the participants. For directions to the trailhead please click on the 'meeting location' button.   Pay attention to the turn off from road 1810 (McGee Creek) to 1811, which is a smaller road. NOTE: Google maps has an error and as does Green trails map. It shows FR 18 north from Lolo pass. Dont take this. You want the road labeled '1810', which heads SE from Lolo Pass junction.
