Activity Notes
Walk at a brisk pace (2.5-3.0 mi/hr) through the streets, admiring the gardens of SE Portland up to Mt. Tabor Park. We may even catch a glimpse of a heritage tree. Once in the park we will take alternating trails to the top of the park up to the top of the #280 stairs at the NE corner of the park. From there we will have 30 minutes to walk up and down the stairs then finish with a moderate stroll back to the MMC. Great training for climbing or backpacking this summer. Total mileage 6 miles (not including stairs climbed up/down). Elevation gain approx. 600 ft. Meet at the Mazama Mountaineering Center 527 SE 43rd AvenuePortland, OR 97215
