Castle, Pinnacle and Plummer Peaks, Standard Route

Activity Notes

Leader will camp the night before at Cougar Rock CG which is first come first served.  We will hike up 2.5 miles to the saddle and then scramble up to Pinnacle Peak, take a break and check out the views of Mount Rainier (hopefully) and head down to start our traverse to the Castle.  We can set a handline on the descent of pinnacle if desired.  The Castle is a one pitch 5th class rock climb with a rappel back down.  If time permits, we will take the trail up to the summit of plummer peak which adds about a mile to the trip. On the way home those who are interested can stop at Whitaker Mountaineering Base Camp for a burger or pizza before the drive home. Priority given to those climbers from my cancelled Thielsen climb.  All are encouraged to apply.
