Commonly done during the Basic Climbing Education Program (BCEP), this hike is a good conditioner for climbing Mt. Hood as well as practicing rope team travel and crampon techniques.

Activity Notes

We're planning this to be an alpine start from the Timberline parking lot. This is an opportunity to simulate a climb on Mt Hood (to the top of Palmer) and enjoy the alpine glow.

Be prepared to be flexible with the weather. We may opt for a later start if poor conditions justify it.
