Activity Notes
This 8.8 mile/1250? hike through a stunning post-eruption landscape leads to an impressive waterfall. Mountain goats are often seen in this area. And I hear there?s a wildflower superbloom too! The most important of the 10 essentials for this hike is sun protection. There is zero shade on this hike. Note: driving time is 3+ hours one-way. You must access Windy Ridge Viewpoint via Randle and Hwy 12. Access from the south was blocked by a landslide earlier this year. Meet to carpool 6am @ Hayden Island Target, SE corner of parking lot. Drivers need a NW Forest or America the Beautiful pass. Passenger recommended gas donation $30 (300 miles roundtrip).Registration is Closed
