Activity Notes

Ready to backpack? Join us for an overnight trek in Three Sisters wilderness. This loop has it all, taking us through pine forest, cinder fields, waterfall and lush meadows.

Our trip begins in dense forest for the first three miles, opening into red ash plains and remarkable views. Next we'll hike along the PCT, collect water at Minnie Springs, camping near a recent volcanic cone to watch shooting stars.

The next day, we'll cross a stream at Sawyer Bar and visit more alpine meadows, capped by an amazing glassy ridge of obsidian, then make a return via the PCT. Base mileage: 16 miles, 2500' ft elevation. Free

Enters Cascades Wilderness Permit area (handled by leader).

Current open spots: 2 (as of 7/10)
