Activity Notes
If you're up for an adventure, we've got one for you! Join AYM for a fun hike to beautiful Mill Creek Ridge northeast of Mount Hood. Along the way we'll bring clippers and do our best effort to clear as much of this seldom-used trail as possible. While not an official trail-tending event, we will do what we can within light means to help make a difference on this beautiful trail that sees very little use. If you can, bring a pair of hedge clippers, gloves, or just your sense of adventure and the willingness to spend time moving obstacles off the trail. We will *not* be doing any tread work or sawing out any large logs. The destination is the top of Mill Creek Ridge, a grassy knoll with a view of Mount Hood and lots of late spring flowers. Hike: 10 miles out and back Elevation Gain: 1,600 feet (on the return) Drivetime from Portland: 1 hour and 40 minutes Where to meet: Meet at Gateway Transit Center at 7:00 AM for carpooling or at the trailhead at 9:00 AM. Here is the trailhead on Google Maps . Note: The trailhead is not obvious at all, so please be in touch with me at some point before the hike so we can make sure nobody gets lost.
