Please join the Mazamas Advanced Rock Committee for a video screening and storytelling session around The People of Climbing. Directed by John Greenwood, The People of Climbing is a "candid look at race and equity in the outdoor industry from the perspective of people of color attending the 2018 Color The Crag Festival in Steele Alabama. Please note and respect that the people interviewed shared their opinions and stories based on their own experiences in the outdoors."

After the screening, we invite our BIPOC friends and community members to share our own experiences in the outdoors. They can be stories of joy or sadness, empowerment or challenge, or whatever you want to share to complicate the mainstream narrative.

You can personally share your story after the screening or write your story to be read anonymously. In both cases, please fill out this Google Form or contact Lynny Brown if you have more questions at bpailyn@gmail.com.

The event is hosted by Lynny Brown and Suresh Singh.

Although this is geared towards BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) community members, white allies and accomplices are welcome to listen.
