The Mazamas offers a variety of classes for all ability levels. Learn new skills in mountaineering, rock climbing, first aid, ski mountaineering, and more.
Join Mazama member, Daniel Cavanaugh, LCSW, hospital social worker, Hannah Duerr, LSWAIC, and anxiety treatment specialist, Christopher Russo, LSWAIC for a webinar training on mental health, trauma response, and coping skills. This training will build and expand on a previously held mental health literacy training, but past participation is not required to attend. The first portion of this webinar will review what was covered at the January session held at the Mazama Mountaineering Center. After the review, our presenters will expand on the topics of trauma, vicarious experiences of trauma, stress injuries, and associated adjustment disorders. We will be focusing specifically on the challenges of going back to adventure sports, such as climbing, after experiencing a stress injury or traumatic event, and will include information on general coping skills and mental health help-seeking skills.
This presentation is hosted by Mazama Virtual Series: Learn, Gather, Experience. Learn more and see past presentations, webinars, and more on https://mazamas.org/virtualmazamas/.
